Woman shot at Renton movie theater


RENTON, Wash. (1-21-16) -- Police are searching for a man who shot and critically wounded a woman inside a movie theater in Renton Thursday night.

The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the Regal Cinemas at The Landing.

According to Renton police, a man who appeared intoxicated went to the showing of "13 Hours." Police say the man walked inside the theater with a gun and "accidentally" discharged his weapon, hitting a woman in the theater.

The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition, say firefighters.

The man fled the scene. Renton police say security cameras caught the man on video, and officers were searching the area for the suspect. People were advised to avoid the area during the police investigation.

The Landing cinemas is located in 900 block of N 10th Place, a retail area near Fry's Electronics and Lowe's Home Improvement.

Police: Deputy accidentally shot at Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center


ONONDAGA, N.Y.  (1-21-16) -- A deputy was accidentally shot Thursday afternoon at the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center, a detective says.

The deputy reportedly accidentally shot himself in the leg, according to a police scanner call. Officials would not confirm that report.

A deputy from another county was shot around 12:31 p.m. at the 4949 Velasko Road detention facility in Onondaga, said Detective Jon Seeber, of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office. The deputy was transporting an inmate when he was shot, Seeber said.

The shooting was accidental, Seeber said. He would not specify how the shooting occurred.

The deputy was transported to a hospital with a non life-threatening injury, Seeber said.

The shooting is under investigation.

Seeber said more information about the shooting will be released later.

Man hospitalized with gunshot wounds in York Township


Saline, MI (1-21-16)  A 58-year-old man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds Thursday in York Township.

Police have been unable to provide much information on the incident because of the extent of the man's injures, said Derrick Jackson of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.

"We're out there trying to figure it out," Jackson said. "There's no way for them to know if it was self-inflicted or anything right now."

Police were called about 1:15 p.m. Jan. 21 to the 9000 block of Yorkshire Drive, in the Saline area, Jackson said.

Although the man's condition was unclear, Jackson said the injuries were such that investigators have not been able to interview the man.

No one was in custody in the incident as of 5 p.m. Thursday, Jackson said.

Union County: Man injured in accidental shooting in Milford Center


Marysville, OH (1-17-16)  A 26-year-old man was taken to Memorial Hospital after an accidental shooting.

According to a report from the Union County Sheriff's Office, deputies and units from the Marysville and Union Township fire departments went to a residence on Greenfield Drive in Milford Center at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 10 for a person who had been accidentally shot in the leg.

The man had an apparent minor injury, reports said.
