Teen dies in accidental shooting in SW Houston
HOUSTON, TX (1-16-16) – A teenager was killed in an accidental shooting Saturday after he and his older stepbrother were handing a pistol in southwest Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call of shooting at 1 p.m. in the 5200 block of Dumfries.
Investigators said that two stepbrothers, a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old, were handing a handgun when the weapon accidentally discharged.
The older brother was handing the handgun over to the younger sibling when it accidentally fired and struck the teen in the torso.
The older sibling is the son of a member of the constable’s command staff and investigators said the pistol involved the shooting was the father’s weapon.
The incident happened at the father’s home, but he was away on a trip in San Antonio.
The teen died at the scene and his older brother was taken in to give a statement.
The older brother had been visiting from college and he and his younger stepbrother were killing time at his father’s home before they went to a party.
Investigators are calling this fatal shooting “a tragic accident.”

BRPD arrests teen in Birch St. deadly shooting
BATON ROUGE, LA (1-17-16) - Detectives arrested 17-year-old Ahmad Antoine for the accidental shooting death of 17-year-old Devin Anderson. According to arrest reports Antoine admitted to Baton Rouge Police that he was "repeatedly cocking" a shotgun when it went off.
The pair was sitting on the porch of a home in the 1900 block of Birch Street.
Antoine turned himself into officers Saturday evening, only hours after the deadly shooting, telling officers in the police precinct that he was responsible for Anderson's death.
Antoine is charged with a single count of negligent homicide.

Sheriff:13-Year Old Accidentally Shot In Elm Mott
ELM MOTT, TX (January 16, 2016 ) Emergency crews responded to a home in the 3600 block of Beheler Road in Elm Mott Saturday night after receiving reports of a child being shot.
According to McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara, upon arrival they found a 13-year old boy with a gunshot wound.
A helicopter was spotted leaving the scene bound for Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Late Saturday night McNamara confirmed to News 10 that the boy was still in the hospital, but was not able to provide the condition he was in.
McNamara says, the teen was at a house with friends when a semi-automatic gun accidentally went off and the teen was shot.
Later Saturday night McNamara confirmed the boy was indeed accidentally shot in the torso by a friend.
No word on how series the injury may be.

Meridian Man Accidentally Shot
Meridian, Miss. (1-16-17) A shooting that has one person in the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds was an accident.
That's according to detective Dareall Thompson with the Meridian Police Dept.. He says officers responded to the 27-hundred block of State Boulevard around 5:30 Saturday evening. He says that one person was shot while two people were tussling over a handgun. Thompson says police have recovered a weapon and have made contact with the shooter who says it was an accident. Investigators say they talked with the victim, who also tells them it was an accident.

Man shot inside restaurant restroom when gun falls off toilet paper dispenser
HARDIN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) (12-16-2013) - A man was accidentally shot in the leg while using a restroom in a central Kentucky restaurant.
According to Elizabethtown police spokesman Virgil Willoughby, the man set his pistol on the toilet paper dispenser while using the restroom Sunday at the Fazoli's located at 1702 North Dixie Avenue.
Willoughby said the gun fell off of the dispenser, hit the floor and fired, shooting him in the leg.
The man was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Police said he did have a concealed carry permit.
