Man hospitalized after accidental shooting in Midland County
Midland MI. (1-6-16) A 47-year-old man was taken to the emergency room early New Years Day after an accidental shooting, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Deputies were sent to a Mills Township home for the incident at 3:10 a.m. There, they found the man has accidentally shot himself in a leg with a shotgun. The man was taken to the MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland Emergency Room for treatment.
It was later learned the man had fired the shotgun near three other people, who were not hurt.
A report listing a count of reckless discharge of a firearm is being sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Dundee farmer dies after accidental shooting
Dundee, Iowa (1-5-16) northeast Iowa farmer has died in a farm-related accident. Fifty-seven-year old Randy Kelchen of Dundee was found dead at his farm Monday afternoon.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Kelchen had been working with livestock and used a shotgun to euthanize an aggressive bull. Authorities say as he was climbing the gate out of the barnyard, when the shotgun accidentally discharged and the gunshot wound was instantly fatal

Boy, 9, accidentally shot in head in Trinidad
PUEBLO, Colo. (1-5-16) (AP) - Trinidad police are investigating an accidental shooting that critically injured a 9-year-old boy.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports the boy and his 8-year-old brother were waiting in a parked car Monday when they found a loaded gun. The older brother was shot in the head and underwent surgery at Denver Children's Hospital.
Investigators say the two boys were in the care of family friend because their parents had a medical appointment. The car was parked near a natural gas station where the caregiver works. He was working on a pump at the time of the shooting.
Police have not arrested anyone, and the district attorney's office will review the investigation to determine what charges, if any, will be filed.

WOMAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER BEING SHOT IN CHEST
IDAHO FALLS — (1-5-16) The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting involving a woman inside a vehicle.
Deputies and Idaho Falls ambulance workers were called to 49th N. and 29th E. around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. They discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to her chest inside of a vehicle stopped on the road. Deputies say she was alone in the car.
The woman was communicating, according to Bonneville County Sheriff Sgt. Bryan Lovell. She was rushed to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ambulance where her condition is unknown.
Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and a detective is at the hospital gathering information.
