5 wounded in today's gun negligence; man shot roommate during home invasion

Teen accidentally shoots himself after firing shots at Cleveland officers

Cleveland, Oh  (2-25-16) - A 16-year-old boy is being treated at a local hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while running from Cleveland officers.

Police sources confirm to WKYC that the teen fired shots at the Fourth District Police Station in the 9300 block of Kinsman Road.

Two police officers, who were sitting inside their cruiser outside of the police station, were uninjured. Bullets did hit the district building, though.

We're told that the cruiser's lights were on when the boy fired multiple shots around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The officers were able to catch the teen on foot after spotting him near a Shell gas station.

Officers administered first aid on his injured leg until paramedics arrived at the scene. Police say the teen gave conflicting statements about how he was shot, but also report the entry / exit wounds in his thigh are consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Charges are pending in this case, which remains under investigation.

Sanford man, woman arrested on charges of child neglect with great bodily harm

Sanford, Fl  (2-25-16)  A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday on child neglect charges after investigators said a young girl was shot in the hand in a Sanford home.

Aaron Davis, 26, and Devolia Sims, 23, are both charged with child neglect with great bodily harm, according to police. Davis is also charged with unsafe storage of a firearm.

"They determined that the juvenile was unattended in a garage and appeared to have been accidentally shot by a firearm," Bianca Gillett, of the Sanford Police Department, said.

Investigators said Davis and Sims rushed the child to Central Florida Regional Hospital, but their stories didn't match up when questioned. They said Sims said she was not in the garage in one statement and that she was in the garage in another.

Police said Sims is the mother of the child.
Police said they found drug paraphernalia and a number of storage units of ammunition in the garage of the home.

The child’s maternal grandmother said the girl is still in the hospital and she will take care of her once she’s released.

Davis and Sims were released on bond Wednesday.

Police have not released the address where the incident occurred.

  1. These things simply shows the inhuman and merciless attitude of human beings. Guns are supposed to be used for safety purpose and they are not supposed to be used for hurting or harming others. You people can also take help from the MA Gun License to have guns and get proper training both physically and morally to know what to do and what not to do.
