Bloomington, In (2-15-16) 1200 block North Woodburn Avenue, 6:11 p.m. Saturday, a man called police after returning home and discovering damage from a gunshot in his residence. The man found a 9 mm round on a paper plate on top of his microwave and damage to drywall in his kitchen and bedroom. Investigators followed the trajectory of the bullet to a neighbor’s residence. There, a man said he had been unloading hisgun and accidentally fired a shot.

Avondale police say shooting of man may have been accidental
Avondale, Az. (2-15-16) - Avondale police say a 19-year-old man was seriously wounded in a shooting that may have been accidental.
Police say the shooting occurred early Monday morning as two young men were reportedly handling a gun that discharged, wounding one of the two men.
Police took an 18-year-old man into custody.
Other details were not immediately released.

Shooting victim comes to ER
Omaha, Ne. (2-15-16) - Police are trying to determine where a man was shot Monday morning.
Officers investigated a house at North 30th Street and Redick Avenue and an apartment complex near North 27th and Cuming around 2 a.m., but were unable to locate a victim or any evidence.
A man suffering from gunshot wounds showed up to the Nebraska Medicine emergency room around 3 a.m. His name and condition have not been released.

Officer at Oregon State Penitentiary accidentally shoots himself (Officer)
Salem, Or (2-15-16)An officer at the Oregon State Penitentiary received medical treatment after accidentally shooting himself Monday.
The Oregon Department of Corrections confirmed that an officer at the Salem prison accidentally fired his sidearm around 1 p.m.
He was taken offsite for medical treatment, according to a Department of Corrections spokeswoman. Video from the scene showed firefighters using a ladder to reach the injured officer.
No other details were immediately released about the officer or the shooting, except that he is expected to be OK.
The Department of Corrections said the case is not being treated as a crime scene by police.

PBSO: Man in Acreage accidentally shoots self in leg
West Palm Beach, Fl (2-15-16) A man in the Acreage was wounded Monday afternoon in an accidental shooting, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The man shot himself in the leg, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. The shooting occurred just before 3:30 p.m. in the 15100 block of Temple Boulevard.

Man Reportedly Shoots Self While Cleaning Gun (cleaning)
Greenville, Tn (2-15-16) A man suffered a minor hand injury when a weapon he was cleaning went off Saturday afternoon, sheriff’s Deputy Frank Cedillo said in a report.
Deputies went to Takoma Regional Hospital and spoke with Nicholas A. Witt, 21, of 35 Ward Park.
Witt said he was cleaning his gun when it jammed. While trying to clear the jam, the weapon discharged, “grazing the palm of his left hand,” the report said.
“No other damage was done to the victim,” the report said.
Witt was treated and released from the hospital.
