(1 dead) Man purchases gun, practices a few days, and is dead.

OSBI investigation continues into Friday night shooting at Coweta hotel

Coweta, Ok  (2-13-16)  Investigation continues into the shooting death of a 35-year-old male inside a room at the Best Western Plus hotel in Coweta Friday evening.
Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell said the case has been handed over to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to determine whether or not the death was a suicide, homicide or accidental shooting.
Police received 911 calls from the hotel around 9:27 p.m.
"We know there was a 35-year-old male in the room with a female companion and they had been there for approximately three days," Bell said. "There were drugs and alcohol in the room and, according to the female, they had had very little sleep for the past three days. They had been on some type of a binge."
The police chief said the weapon was reportedly a recent purchase and the pair had been out shooting the last couple of days.
"We know the male was shot and died from that, but we do not know who did the shooting at this point. We have to let OSBI complete their investigation," Bell said. "There were two people in that room and something took place, but I don't know if it was a suicide, homicide or an accident at this point. It could have been a game they were playing with each other. We don't know."
It is believed there was one shot fired in the room. The investigation will tell authorities whether someone was holding the gun or if the victim was holding it.
Bell said the gunshot wound was to the head.
"Nobody heard the shot," the chief reported. "She (female companion) is the one who came out of the room screaming and running down the hall that her boyfriend had been shot. We were notified by hotel personnel and her personally calling 911."
Bell assured the police are very cautious on cases such as this.
"There is an ongoing investigation here, and all the chatter on Facebook is not helping things," Bell noted. "We have to let science and evidence lead us into the direction we need to go. A 35-year-old male died of a gunshot wound inside of the hotel and that is where we stand right there. We have no idea which way it will go yet."
The police chief added if anyone wants to come forward to talk about the victim to notify law enforcement authorities.
The identity of neither the victim, nor his companion, has not been released.

  1. I think that internet is full of such cases but then the result that we are finding of knowing such cases is zero. Nobody cares what happens next door, it affects them only when something happen to them or their loved ones. You must keep an eye on the environment around you so as to avoid such mishappenings.
