North Dakota man dies in Arizona in accidental shooting at his home

(10-14-15) LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -- A North Dakota man who apparently accidentally shot himself in the stomach while cleaning his gun has died, according to Lake Havasu City police.

Officers responded Tuesday morning to the home of Rod Iverson, a 70-year-old part-time Lake Havasu City resident, who was cleaning multiple guns in his garage when a .9-mm handgun discharged into his abdomen, the police said..

The shooting occurred while Iverson's wife was out of the house sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. and when she returned she noticed her husband sitting in his chair "like he was taking a nap,"  according to a story

Iverson’s wife reported the incident,and paramedics transported him to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where he later died in the operating room.

According to Officer Joe Harrold, there is nothing to indicate that the incident was anything other than accidental

Man accidentally discharges gun in Fargo apartment  

FARGO (KFGO-AM) -(10-14-15)  Fargo police are investigating the accidental discharge of a gun Tuesday night.

Police Lt. Joel Vettel says a man was disassembling a pistol, forgot there was a bullet in the chamber, and when he fired the gun, it went off. The bullet lodged in a closet wall. No one was hurt.

The man called police to report the accident around 7:30 p.m. It happened in an apartment in the 5300 block of Amber Valley Parkway. The report will be forwarded to the city attorney to determine if the man will face charges.

On Wednesday, October 14 at 12:54 pm, an accidental discharge on the firing line by a member
resulted in a minor injury to that member. Nobody else was injured in the incident and the member is
expected to make a full recovery.
The minor injury was the end result of hot brass coming in contact with the shooter's skin, which
startled them causing an accidental discharge.
This incident serves as a reminder that we need to remain vigilant at all times when handling firearms.
Weston Shooters Club wishes the member a full and speedy recovery, and has reopened
for normal
business. WSC will have no further comment on this inciden

No charges will be laid in connection with accidental weekend shooting at Gun Club 

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (10-14-15)  City police have completed their investigation into an accidental weekend shooting of a teenager at the Algoma Rod and Gun Club.  Police say the investigation has determined that there was no criminal intent and no charges will be laid.  Police had been called to the facility on 6th Line Saturday afternoon regarding an unintentional discharge of a firearm.  The 16-year old boy was struck by a .22 calibre bullet.  The boy was quickly stabilized and then flown by air ambulance to Ottawa for further treatment.  There has been no further word on the boy’s condition
