Mecosta Co. Sheriff's Department Investigates Accidental Shooting
(10-11-15) Mecosta County deputies investigated an accidental shooting while a man was riding a golf cart in Barryton.
The 57-year-old Grandville man, Terry Apol, was the passenger of the golf cart at 6660 20 Mile Rd. The golf cart was driven with a gun being carried on the back of the golf cart.
While driving the cart through a field, the gun went off. The shot hit Apol in the upper left arm.
He was taken to Spectrum Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

MBPD: Accidental hotel shooting sends woman to hospital
(10-12-15) MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - An accidental shooting at a Myrtle Beach hotel sent one woman to the hospital Monday morning, according to the Myrtle Beach police.
Officers said the shooting happened early Monday at Hotel Blue. A female suffered a gun shot wound to her leg. Police believe the gun fell and went off on her inside a hotel room.
The woman was taken to the hospital and was alert and believed to be alright

10-year-old boy dies after he's accidentally shot during hunting trip in northern Utah
(10-11-15) SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities say a 10-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed during a hunting trip in northern Utah.
The Cache County Sheriff's Office says the boy was sitting on the floor of a four-wheeler to stay warm when a hunting companion pulled alongside the vehicle. Deputies say the man got off his four-wheeler and was removing his rifle when it went off, hitting the boy around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say the boy died the scene, in the far southeast corner of a Forest Service area in Cache County. The sheriff's office says his body was transported back to Cache Valley.
Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau says there are no charges pending.
He says the boy's name is being withheld until family and friends can be notified.

Gunshot incident was probably an accident
Larchwood, Iowa — (9-25-15) A gunshot incident that injured a rural Larchwood resident earlier this week near Larchwood appears to have been an accident, but authorities have not made a final determination.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 5 PM on Monday, September 21, 2015, they received a 911 call from someone at the home located at 1231 Beech Avenue in rural Larchwood. The caller advised that there was an accidental discharge from his shotgun and he had been shot in the lower part of his leg.
Larchwood Emergency Medical Service, Lyon County Ambulance, sheriff’s deputies and the Iowa State Patrol responded to the call.
At last report, the incident was believed to have been an accident, but deputies say it is still under investigation.
